The Purpose Of Mind-Journey-Learn
A personal reflective journal of philosophy, epistemology and communication
Hello dear Reader, and thank you for taking the time to visit my mindspace on Substack. I wanted to pass on a few words on why I am here and what you can expect.
The written word, in books, newspapers, magazines, etc, has always fascinated and delighted me. I started picking up books to read for myself when I was about six years old and I have never looked back. On the other side of that medallion, I have had an itch for many years to write more, a sort of creative urge that is fed by my interest in stories, human knowledge, the interchange of ideas and wisdom between people - and many other related fields - that somehow always brings me to that ephemeral human endeavour: Philosophy.
The definition of philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality and existence. It sounds very academic and it is a worthy academic pursuit, but one does not have to be an academic to consider and think about philosophy. It has been a source of inspiration for me for many years and I always return to it when I need to work through both professional and personal challenges.
It is important to stress that I am very interested in philosophical considerations as a tool for learning. This means the internal conversation one could have as part of thinking about knowledge, reality and existence is a reflective pursuit that ideally leads to personal development.
It is my hope that my time spent thinking about knowledge, the way we exchange ideas, how we make decisions, and so on, will help me be a better person - and give me something to talk and write about. If it inspires, you, dear Reader, so much the better. One day, it may lead to writing a book of my own. We shall see.
That is the core of this substack. One person's journey through learning, personal development and working on those writing muscles. You are very welcome here and I look forward to hearing from you.
